If you want to cut to the chase and see what I need feedback on, just skip the paragraphs of introduction, I appreciate if you read the whole thing and get an idea of what my project is about and what it is for.
________________________________________________

My classmates and I have to work individually on a project. We are required to choose 3 different medias to be incorporated in our project, for example, my classmate's project is to suggest a rebranding to a local restaurant establishment, their 3 medias is a branding guideline, a video showcasing the restaurant and its services and promotional prints (e.g. posters, brochure, flyers, etc).

As for my project, I've started creating an EBook about guiding traditional artists who are interested in getting into digital art. It's a step-by-step guide of digitally illustrating characters using a pen tablet. The steps consist of sketching, line art, coloring then shading and lighting in Paint Tool Sai and Photoshop. I also included an extra chapter that shows how you can analyze and draw a character or person into semi-realistic and cartoony styles.

My target audience are traditional artists from ages around 14-19 who are new to digital illustrating and still exploring the medium and its tools.

Other than the EBook, my other 2 medias is a website and some videos. The website acts as a "One stop shop" of the project where you can read the contents of the EBook on the website, you can also download the EBook from there too if you want to read it offline, it also has a gallery of artworks and videos and a contact page. The videos are time lapsed recordings of the process of some of the artworks featured in the EBook.

I need you guys to beta read, watch and look at these and tell me what you think, I'll also list some questions up for each for specific things I need feedback/suggestions for.

(If you're in the process of writing feedback and questions about the design choices, some answers might already be in the introduction of this journal post.)

Questions:
  1. Is the layout understandable?
  2. Are my instructions clear?
  3. Is the pacing of my sentences clear?
  4. Is my tone of writing fitting for my audience (refer to 3rd paragraph from first part of journal post)?
  5. Do you have any suggestions on how to improve this? If yes, please specify.

Sample Time-lapsed Video of an Artwork

Questions:
  1. Is the video's length appropriate?
  2. Which parts of the time-lapse video do you find least interesting?
  3. Did you skip a part or some parts of the video? Why?
  4. Do you have any suggestions on how to improve this? If yes, please specify.

Website Layout

Home Page

I'm currently using placeholders and pre-made artworks for the images but will be replaced later on.

Tutorials Page
Did Website Layout Tutorials-02 by Py-Bun  Did Website Layout Tutorials2-02 by Py-Bun
The title and dark overlay on the images are just a rollover effect, the image on the right is what the thumbnails look by default. The content of each tutorial will be pretty much the same as what's in the EBook.

Gallery Page

Clicking the thumbnail brings up the whole image. I will also find a way to provide a link to the time lapse videos of some of the artworks or they could be in a separate page.

Contact Page

Self explanatory

Questions:
  1. Is the layout appropriate?
  2. Is the interface clear?
  3. Do you have any suggestions on how to improve this? If yes, please specify.

If you have feedback or suggestions for the overall project please include that too in the comments. Thank you very much for taking your time reading this.

Last week we had an orientation at our university about our incoming internship next semester, the orientation was overwhelming and we feel so unprepared for these upcoming months and all the stuff we have to submit for said internship, we're going to have a mock job interview this week. Everything seems to happen so fast, we're not even done with our thesis.

Anyway, I'm planning to find internship programs in any game dev companies in the Philippines. My top 3 companies are Anino PlayLab, Secret 6 Inc. and Ubisoft Philippines.

I chose Anino as my first because I heard good things from them, specially with an alumni who had their internship there. I could apply as a 2D artist there... plus last time I heard, they encourage employees to play TF2 because they do company lan games sometimes.

Second is Secret 6 which was recommended by witch-girl-pilar, she works there as a 2D artist, she said the studio could use a 3D artist like me, plus the social environment is great.

Last is Ubisoft Philippines... I'm not much of a fan of Ubisoft nor its games but my professor in 3D class recommends them. I do still look forward to work there.

Now I'm still not sure if I should apply as a 2D or 3D artist in the first two companies, maybe both? If it's possible, I could be a 3D artist as my main and 2D on the side or vice versa. I'm more confident as a 2D Artist tho.

In the long run I want to work at a company that works on stylistic games.

Which Art Style is mostly appealing to you or are interested in learning?

For me, pretty much anything is appealing to me as long as the lighting is done right and l'm also into finding my art style in the cartoony/disney/individual direction

To know how to do sketch, lineart, coloring, shading and lighting digitally?

or to know how to interpret a subject (e.g. person, character, object, place, etc) into certain art styles (e.g. cartoony, anime, realism, surrealism, etc)?
